Drink half your body weight (in ounces) of water to optimize your athletic performance.

Wondering how much water you should be drinking per day?

If your an athlete looking to reach optimal performance condition, use this simple formula to determine the number of ounces of water to drink daily:

  • Weigh yourself and determine your weight in pounds
  • Cut that number in half
  • This is the number of ounces of water per day you should consume

There is a correlation between muscle fatigue and hydration; if you're not adequately hydrated, your muscles will fatigue quicker, so your training is sub-optimal.

Additionally, proper hydration can lead to faster recovery after strenuous physical activity. Water is a natural detoxifier, flushing out waste efficiently and naturally - drink lots of it every day!

If you have questions about training and hydration or would like to fine tune your conditioning program, contact our office for a consultation.
