For all athletic endeavors, I recommend that athletes Foam Roll first. It only takes 5 minutes to do your full body or to target a specific area for a dynamic sport or event.

The foam roller, simple and effective

The foam roller, simple and effective

The foam roller is easy to use and one of the most effective tools for home treatment that I've seen.

This simple implement has been very popular with our patients recovering from injury and seeking relief.

Self-massage using the foam roller can be used to loosen up tight areas in the body where motion is restricted. The massage is designed to get you moving smoothly again, without pain. If you suspect there are knots or kinks in your muscles from overuse or other injuries, the foam roller might give you relief.

This quick video gives you an idea of how the foam works:

I have seen the foam roller help many of my patients with their pain and stiffness. Stop by and pick one up at the office, and if you make an appointment I can demonstrate some techniques that can help you.
