FROZEN SHOULDER

Also called Adhesive Capsulitis, frozen shoulder occurs when the capsule of connective tissue around the shoulder joint thickens and tightens.

Frozen shoulder restricts shoulder movement and typically develops slowly. It occurs in three stages, and each stage can last many months.

  • Freezing stage - Any movement of your shoulder causes pain, and your shoulder's range of motion starts to become limited.

  • Frozen stage - Pain may begin to diminish during this stage. However, your shoulder becomes stiffer, and it becomes more difficult to move.

  • Thawing stage - The range of motion in your shoulder begins to improve.

We can help restore shoulder function and relieve pain during this painful condition, no matter what stage you are experiencing.

GOLFERS/TENNIS ELBOW

Repetitive and constant movement that overuses the arm, forearm, and hand muscles can cause golfer's and tennis elbow.

Contrary to popular belief, this injury is not limited to golfers and tennis players. Any activity that uses these muscles, such as baseball, typing on a keyboard, football, weight training, or even raking, can lead to this affliction.

Caused by overusing the muscles and tendons that control your wrist and fingers, golfers elbow causes pain on the inner side of your elbow and may spread into your forearm and wrist. Tennis elbow is similar, but the pain is on the outside of the elbow.

If you are experiencing pain in your elbow, schedule an appointment to begin treatment and get relief.

ROTATOR CUFF INJURIES

Rotator cuff injuries occur most frequently in people who repeatedly perform overhead motions in their jobs or sports, and the risk increases with age.

The term rotator cuff refers to the tissue that surrounds the shoulder joint. This group of muscles and tendons function as protection for your shoulder joint and ensure that the ball and socket mechanism stays intact.

Painters, carpenters, and people who frequently play baseball or tennis find themselves with this condition. It can be severely painful and debilitating.

A rotator cuff injury can cause a dull ache in the shoulder, which often worsens when you try to sleep on the involved side.

Ensuring proper, balanced musculoskeletal function through periodic spinal assessments can help prevent this type of injury.
